Canebrake Outfitters — guided hog hunts in lowcountry South Carolina

Our Mission

We hunt with purpose, conserve with conviction

Our mission is to share an authentic South Carolina hunting experience rooted in conservation, family tradition, and a lifelong respect for the outdoors.

As a hunter and conservationist with more than 30 years of experience, I have developed a deep appreciation for the land, the wildlife it supports, and the responsibility we have to protect and preserve it for future generations. Hunting has never been simply about the harvest — it has been a way of life, a connection to the land, and a tradition passed down through generations of my family.

Our roots run deep in rural South Carolina, where family, faith, hard work, and respect for the outdoors have shaped who we are. We believe the greatest part of hunting is the experience: being in the woods before daylight, sharing a campfire with good people, learning from one another, and creating the kind of memories and stories that become part of a family's own tradition.

We are committed to providing our guests with a safe, ethical, and memorable hunting experience while practicing responsible wildlife management and respecting the land we are fortunate enough to hunt. We want every hunter who comes through our gates to experience not only the excitement of the hunt, but also the Southern hospitality, heritage, and outdoor traditions that make this place special.

We hunt with purpose, conserve with conviction, and carry forward the traditions that brought us here.

The Lodge

You are not driving home at 2 a.m.

The lodge sits at the edge of the marsh, ten minutes from every stand on the property. Your night there is part of the price — hunt late, eat late, sleep, and be back out before first light.

Gun storage, a cleaning station, and cold storage for the harvest are all under the same roof.

Season

Hogs run all year

There is no closed season on feral hogs on private land in South Carolina, so we hunt year round. What changes is the conditions. Confirm regulations

Spring & Summer

Hot nights and heavy sign along the cane. Hogs move to water early and stay out late — the longest windows of the year.

Fall

Cooler nights, better thermal conditions, and hogs feeding hard. The block that books up first.

Winter

Cold, quiet, and the biggest hogs of the year. Fewer parties on the property and the easiest tracking.
